GangaGen’s proprietary drug development platform leverages the Company’s deep expertise in phage biology to develop innovative antibacterial agents called ectolysins.
Ectolysins are different from traditional antibiotics in key ways: each ectolysin is specific to the type of bacteria for which it is developed, and can rapidly destroy the bacteria, including those in biofilms, leaving beneficial bacteria unaffected.
GangaGen is currently exploring the development of additional ectolysins using its broad platform expertise including for tuberculosis and Gram-negative infections.
